Facilitating Wildlife Conservation amongst local communities

The Robin Hurt Wildlife Foundation, formerly known as the Cullman and Hurt Community Wildlife Project, was founded by Robin A. Hurt with the assistance and contributions of Joseph F. Cullman III in 1990 on the conviction that wildlife and its habitat can only be conserved by involving the local people, and from that involvement, give them a direct benefit from the wildlife among which they live. Local communities would be encouraged to help conserve and protect these renewable resources.

Paving the way for future
wildlife conservationists

Through our Village Benefits Scheme and other generous donations we have been working with all the villages adjacent to our Hunting Concessions across Tanzania. The funds generated are dispersed amongst these villages towards goals that benefit the communities as a whole.

Anti-Poaching

Conserving Africa’s
Wildlife Habitats

Conservation and anti-poaching are one of the primary areas of focus of the Robin Hurt Wildlife Foundation. Poaching has very sadly been on the increase across the whole of East Africa over the past 15 years. Primarily this increase has been largely focused on ivory poaching and we are sad to report dramatic decreases in the elephant population across the areas we work in.

Health & wellness program

Delivering quality health-
care to communities

Our community Health & Wellness Education Program has been operating for 15 years under the direction of Wesley Kaleshu. The overall goal of the program is to deliver community health and wellness education in the hunting areas assigned to Robin Hurt Safaris.
